Tommy Wooten has been a Senior Audit Manager on a part-time basis with the firm since 1997. He specializes in the audits of not-for-profit entities including ministry organizations and churches. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting and a Master of professional Accountancy degree from Georgia State University. Tommy is currently a Professor of Accounting at Belmont University and teaches undergraduate principals of accounting, auditing, advanced accounting, and applied accounting theory. His previous experience includes work as a Senior Auditor for Coopers & Lybrand, CPA’s (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and as a Financial Accountant for Yancy Brothers, where he performed financial and managerial duties. Tommy’s involvement in both academics and industry allow him to stay on the cutting edge of auditing and accounting standards. He is a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association and the Tennessee Society of Accounting Educators. Tommy is very active in his church, where he has served as a Deacon and as chair of the Finance Committee. He also enjoys volunteering his time with other local nonprofit organizations.
